It’s not an original idea, but certainly a well executed one that plays to the sentiment of a soccer mad nation just ahead of 2010. TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris‘ Kompanya campaign for Adidas pays tribute to typical barbershop ads which can be seen on the sidewalks of townships and cities from Soweto to Lagos and Mombassa. The result is a cunning series of commercials that play on African pride and the game that grips the heart, mind and soul of soccer lovers across the continent. The campaign also cleverly positions Adidas as local, relevant, yet at the heart of a global soccer loving community.
